Urban legends are stories that are thought to be true and are repeated through out time. They are often stretched out or exaggerated while being repeated. Urban legends are often started by being completely made up or parts of it overheard and added to it.
The first urban legend Taiwan’s popular restaurants offer grilled or barbeque baby fetuses. This legend is completely and totally false. This legend was started by someone using a photo of a man eating and what appeared to be a dead fetus in his hand. The fact is it was an artist using what most believed as a doll head on a ducks body making it appear like a cooked fetus.
For the second legend, Good Samaritan warns a female driver about an armed and dangerous man hiding in the back seat of the car. This legend is unclassified and not sure if it is even true or false. The story goes a woman goes to gas station and when paying for gas the manager says there is something wrong with her credit card. She goes in puzzled because she sees the transaction has gone through. The manage tells her what is going on and the police are coming as she looks over and see the car door open and the man slipping out.
Last but not least, Belle from the beauty and the beast can be glimpsed in a scene in the hunchback of Notre dame. While reading and walking in streets of Notre dame you can see bell in the bottom right hand corner. This was done on purpose and as a joke because the two movies took place in France. If the viewer is quick eyed they can see other Disney characters from other movies in the same scene.
To conclude this essay on urban legends, legends can be true or false, exaggerated completely or just far fetched. Even with most legends false there are some that are true. They can be from the most disturbing stories to the most funny. These legends though proven one way or another are still passed on through stories and tales of people like you and me.

media violence
I suppose watching movies and television and the violence in them has its effects. Some of the effects it has on people are desensitizing people. Making people not aware that something critical is happening in front of them. Like a fight happening in front of two kids. Besides desensitizing people violence in the media gives lots of ideas to impressionable people. Making those people that do not have a mind of their own and to do what ever everyone is doing to do violent acts. Mostly there is violence for entertainment and ratings.
